Aims and Scope
Economy and Contemporary Society – ECS (former Yearbook of “Gh. Zane” Institute of Economic Research) is an international multidisciplinary double-blind peer-reviewed open access journal published annually online by Gheorghe Zane Institute for Economic and Social Research, Romanian Academy, Iași Branch.
The mission of the journal is to disseminate original theoretical and empirical research on broad economic and social issues relevant for scholars, practitioners, and policy-makers.
Thematic areas of interest that are intended to be addressed in the journal are: economics, management and business administration, marketing, finance, insurance, accounting, economic cybernetics, statistics and economic forecasting, decisions and fuzzy systems, artificial intelligence models with application in economic processes, rural tourism, agrarian economics, rural development, etc.
However, Economy and Contemporary Society also encourages submissions on current, interdisciplinary and emerging topics from related fields (sociology, psychology or economic geography).
The journal has one volume per year, but will also publish special issues focusing on topics such as rural tourism and regional development, as well as guest issues.
Research papers that include empirical analyses, reviews on current topics, analytical essays based on interdisciplinary theoretical and methodological perspectives, as well as research results presented at conferences organized within the “Gheorghe Zane” Institute for Economic and Social Research are accepted for evaluation.
